Late-night Muldersdrift crash sees six killed and one critical

Authorities are investigating a devastating collision that claimed several lives, with emergency teams working late into the night at the scene.

Two bakkies collided on Beyers Naudé Drive in Muldersdrift on Sunday night, November 2, leaving six people dead and one critically injured.

According to Sterkfontein EMS commander André Raijmakers, the crash was a partial head-on collision.

Emergency services received the call just after 20:00.

“Out of the seven patients, only one survived and was transported to the hospital in critical condition,” he stated.

He added that multiple services responded to the scene, including Gauteng Provincial Government EMS, private ambulances, Mogale Fire and Rescue, police, as well as Mogale Public Safety.

“The crash is still under investigation and additional information is very limited at this time,” Raijmakers concluded.
