Nole the baboon on a big Noordheuwel adventure
Meet Nole, the young baboon wandering Noordheuwel – friendly, curious and on a mission to find a new troop, says Claw.
A young male baboon continues to roam the Noordheuwel area.
This is the same baboon that was sighted on December 26, and according to Community Led Animal Welfare (Claw) founder Cora Bailey, he was named Nole.
Nole was last seen on the morning of January 14 in Outeniqua Street. Bailey emphasised that he poses no threat to humans.
As previously reported, it is natural for a young male baboon to leave its troop in search of a new one, and Nole is simply passing through the area.

“This baboon is just passing through town and is not a threat to humans, unless it feels threatened,” Bailey explained.
She advised residents not to panic and encouraged them to give Nole space and avoid interaction so he can move on safely.
Nole has been sighted in the same areas in recent weeks, including Kouga and Paarlberg streets, as his instincts lead him to search for a new troop in Noordheuwel.
Bailey concluded by thanking the community for being helpful and co-operative while keeping an eye on Nole.
