Driver injured as car crashes through barrier in Silverfields

A vehicle veered off Voortrekker Road in Silverfields, smashing through a barrier and leaving the driver injured but alive.

In the early hours of this morning, February 24, a car crashed through a barrier on Voortrekker Road in Silverfields.

Councillor Lourens Gouws, who was on the scene, said the crash occurred just after 06:00 after a vehicle veered off the road and crashed into Carol Road.

It is not clear how or why the incident occurred, but emergency services, including paramedics and private security, responded to the scene.

“The driver of the vehicle was injured and transported to the hospital. Fortunately, there were no fatalities,” he said.
