Door-to-door checks underway for Mogale’s indigent programme
Officials will verify household information in Swanneville and Rietvallei Ext 5 to keep municipal records accurate and ensure fair benefit allocation.
Mogale City Local Municipality (MCLM) has started conducting property verification visits in Swanneville and Rietvallei Ext 5 as part of its Deemed Indigent Programme.
The visits will take place between 09:00 and 15:00 from today, March 9, to Friday, March 13.
MCLM assistant manager for media and public relations, Refilwe Mahlangu, said indigent verification officers will go door-to-door to confirm household and property information of property owners or heads of households.
“This process forms part of our ongoing efforts to ensure that indigent benefits are correctly allocated to qualifying households and that municipal records remain accurate and up to date,” she explained.

She urged residents to cooperate with the verification officers, make themselves available during the scheduled times, and provide a copy of their ID if requested, particularly if they are the property owner or head of the household.
“The officers will be properly identified and will carry official identification. We would appreciate residents’ cooperation, as this process strengthens fairness, transparency and service delivery in our communities,” Mahlangu concluded.
