Two athletes from Curro Krugersdorp Primary School have earned their spot at the Gauteng Athletics Championships, ready to showcase their talent on the provincial stage.
Two athletes from Curro Krugersdorp Primary School are preparing to compete at the Gauteng Athletics Championships this March.
Sophia Marks and Ricardo van Biljon have earned their place among the province’s best after successfully progressing through a competitive series of athletics trials, ultimately earning selection to represent D2 in the high jump.
According to Curro’s marketer Dibuseng Maboya, consistency, technique, and mental preparation are essential.

“Doing well at the district level is an achievement in itself, but only the most impressive athletes are chosen to advance to the championships, the pinnacle of primary school athletics in the province,” she said.
For Sophia and Ricardo, each round meant outperforming hundreds of athletes, honing their skills, and demonstrating exceptional commitment to their sport.
“Our learners continue to impress me. The dedication and hours of training they put in are beyond impressive. We are cheering them on all the way. As these young athletes prepare to step onto the provincial stage, the entire Curro Krugersdorp community stands firmly behind them,” Dibuseng concluded.
