Fire and rescue confirm three injured in recent Pinehaven crash
A woman, a schoolgirl and an elderly man escaped with minor injuries after a multi-vehicle collision at the Pinehaven intersection days ago, where emergency crews also faced traffic management challenges.
Another serious crash at the notorious Pinehaven intersection left three people with minor injuries on July 21, prompting a large emergency response and causing lengthy traffic delays.
According to Mogale Fire and Rescue station officer Jaco van der Westhuizen, emergency crews received the call of a motor vehicle collision at 16:49.

“A Nissan sedan drove in front of a truck that was coming down the hill and collided square on the passenger door, catapulting it into the air where it then hit an Isuzu, spun around and came to rest just behind the Isuzu,” he explained.

“A Ford was also hit by the truck, removing the nose of the car. To our surprise, only three people sustained minor injuries in the Nissan,” he added.
Numerous emergency resources, including the fire department, towing responders and ambulances, were dispatched to the scene. Van der Westhuizen said those injured were a woman, a schoolgirl and an elderly man.
He added that emergency crews faced challenges because no law enforcement officers were available to assist with traffic management, resulting in significant delays before the vehicles could be removed. The scene was cleared at about 18:30.
