Update: Jacques Roberts moved to general ward as recovery continues
While his condition is improving, Jacques still faces a lengthy recovery under close medical supervision.
Jacques Roberts has been transferred from the intensive care unit (ICU) to a general ward following the incident at 6 on Heritage Square this past weekend, during which he was allegedly pushed down a flight of stairs and sustained serious injuries.
According to the family’s spokesperson and Jacques’ sister, Lerine Roberts, he was moved to a general ward on the night of August 4 after spending several days in ICU.
She told the Krugersdorp News that doctors have confirmed Jacques will need to remain in hospital for some time so he can continue receiving treatment and be closely monitored.

Although his condition is improving, Lerine said he is not yet out of danger. He remains on antibiotics to help prevent infection and is receiving strong pain medication.
“The good news is that his neck isn’t broken. He has whiplash, which is painful, but we are extremely grateful that there is no fracture. Jacques is feeling a little better and is finally managing to get a little bit of sleep,” she said.
Lerine added that doctors were encouraged by the results of Jacques’ latest scan, and that the family gives all the glory to God for his remarkable improvement.

Doctors will still assess X-rays of his nose and jaw and may also need to examine his teeth.
“We truly believe that this remarkable progress is the result of all the prayers being lifted for Jacques. Thank you so much to every person who continues to pray, believe and stand with our family. Please keep carrying him in prayer as we continue to trust God for his complete healing and restoration. Every prayer is heard,” Lerine said.
