Belly2Brain founder driven by a passion to uplift others
From 20 000 sandwiches to feeding 3 000 learners each month, the organisation is turning community support into practical help.
Belly2Brain NPC continues to support people in need through a range of community outreach programmes.
Founded by Dominique Tibbles, the organisation runs initiatives throughout the year, including Sandwich Day, Handbags of Hope, blessing local children’s home The Bethany House Trust, a ‘Parkie Kerk’, a forgiveness workshop, prison outreaches, a walk against human trafficking, blanket drives, a ‘food sock’ programme and a charity shop.
One of its biggest annual initiatives is Sandwich Day. This year, Belly2Brain made 20 000 peanut butter and jam sandwiches for feeding schemes across Krugersdorp. Tibbles spends 67 hours locked in a cage while the community donates towards the initiative, which has grown from 2 100 sandwiches over the years.
Belly2Brain also opened a charity shop in November 2024. According to manager Jacolene Mentz, profits from the shop support school feeding schemes, providing food to roughly 3 000 learners each month.
The organisation also hopes to establish a boys’ home in future to provide a safe space for boys. To help make the project possible, it is seeking 3 500 monthly donations of R100.
