Unisa and Mogale City resume training sessions to support students
For the first time since the pandemic, Unisa will host in-person training sessions, focusing on how to find books for research using the online library.
The University of South Africa (Unisa) will resume training sessions for Mogale City-based students registered with the university.
These sessions, previously disrupted by the Covid-19 pandemic, are a key component of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Mogale City Library Services and Unisa.
According to Mogale City Local Municipality communications officer Refilwe Mahlangu, as part of this agreement, Unisa students residing in Mogale City have access to the Krugersdorp and Kagiso Public Libraries, where they can utilise essential academic resources, computer facilities and the internet, study spaces, and a dedicated service for ordering and collecting Unisa study materials.
For the first time since the pandemic, Unisa will host in-person training sessions, focusing on how to find books for research using the online library.
Session dates and venues are as follows:
• Krugersdorp Library: March 13, from 10:00 to 12:00
• Kagiso Library: March 14, from 10:00 to 12:00
• Online Session (Microsoft Teams) March 20 from 10:00 to 12:00
”These sessions will equip students with essential skills, including navigating the Unisa online library using basic search functions and borrowing, renewing, and returning library materials.
We encourage all Mogale-based Unisa students to take advantage of this opportunity to enhance their research, academic skills and work,” Mahlangu said.
“Library services remain committed to supporting students in their educational journey and strive to make higher education more accessible, inclusive, and convenient for our community.”
