KHS celebrates its top academic achievers

The annual Top 10 Academic Achievers Dinner at KHS honoured the top learners from Grades 8 to 11.

Krugersdorp High School (KHS) recently hosted their annual Top 10 Academic Achievers Dinner which allows for the school to celebrate the academic achievements of the top 10 learners in Grades Eight to 11 over the past academic year.

According to the school’s head of marketing, Lauren Jooste Coetsee, the main goal of the event is to provide learners with an opportunity to celebrate their excellence within the academic environment.

”This year, the school had the privilege of welcoming the Acting Circuit Team Manager of the D2 District, David Mokgobanama, as the guest speaker for our learners. Mokgobanama is a very studious man who has just obtained his PhD in Science Education. He spoke about flying high and striving for excellence.

This is a fitting theme for our learners as KHS expects excellence whether it is in the classroom, sports field or stage,” Lauren said.

A total of 35 families from the school also had the opportunity to join the prestigious event in which each learner received a gift and a certificate from the school acknowledging the time that they had put into achieving their academic results.

“The ceremony in turn hopes to give learners motivation to not only excel in academics but to also represent Krugersdorp in the best way possible in any activity they take part in,” Lauren concluded.
