Pride and purpose as new Curro High leaders take charge

Parents, teachers and peers celebrated as Curro Krugersdorp High School’s 2026 leadership team was officially inaugurated.

In a moving and memorable ceremony held on August 18, Curro Krugersdorp High School officially inaugurated its 2026 leadership team, marking the start of a new chapter of student-led excellence and service.

According to Curro marketer Dibuseng Maboya, the event was filled with pride and anticipation as learners were entrusted with their leadership portfolios, symbolising their commitment to serve both the school and the wider community with integrity and dedication.

“The highlight of the morning was an inspiring sermon delivered by Pastor Eksteen, who reminded attendees of the true essence of leadership through the teachings of Christ,” said Dibuseng.

Pastor Eksteen read from Matthew 20:26 and shared, “Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant,” inspiring the newly appointed leaders to embrace servant leadership as their guiding principle.”

Dibuseng added that one of the most touching moments of the ceremony came when parents were invited to the stage to place leadership badges on their children’s blazers.

“With hearts full of pride, each parent stood boldly and confidently, celebrating their child’s achievement in front of the school community. The stage was filled with emotion from tears of joy and warm embraces to proud smiles as families shared in this milestone together.”

A message was also delivered by Curro Krugersdorp High School’s principal, David Felgate, who concluded, “It is with great pride and excitement that we introduce the newly elected learner leaders of Curro High. Each individual brings a unique blend of talent, energy, and vision to their role, and together they form a dynamic team whose cohesion and enthusiasm are already inspiring.”
