Junior debut, senior strength: Both Millies choirs shine

Laerskool Millennium’s junior and senior choirs impressed at the Allegretto Eisteddfod, earning double gold and securing a spot at Nationals.

This year marked a very special milestone for Laerskool Millennium’s seniors as well as their newly formed junior choirs

Mindi Koekemoer, departmental head at Millies, said their junior choir brought together 81 enthusiastic young voices at Monument Primary recently.

“Alongside them, our established senior choir, with 90 talented singers, proudly represented our school at the regional Allegretto Eisteddfod,” she said.

Mindi added that both choirs delivered outstanding performances, with the juniors earning an impressive 92% (double gold) in their debut year, while the seniors achieved a remarkable 93% (double gold).

“Their hard work and dedication did not go unnoticed, as both choirs have been invited to the prestigious Nationals at the end of October,” Mindi added.

She further congratulated the learners who gave their best on stage and thanked teacher Ansuné Havenga (choir conductor) and teacher Wimpie Pawson (accompanist) for their inspiring leadership and guidance.

“We are exceptionally proud of our choirs and look forward to cheering them on as they continue to make our school shine,” she concluded.
