Herewith I am expressing a huge thank you to Mr Kay of my local Rant-en-Dal Spar.
I truly can say “My Spar” like in the television advertisement.
My daughter and I are allergic to all wheat, dairy and egg products – to name a few – and this, needless to say makes life very difficult and expensive. We can’t have a normal sandwich when on the go, at work etc so we always have to prepare lunch very carefully the previous day.
A few years ago the only option for some taste of bread was to travel to Edenvale where a factory was that catered for people like us. The factory has since closed down.
We now travel to Bryanston to buy our bread and this doesn’t happen often as this becomes a very expensive exercise.
Out of sheer desperation I went to Rant-en-Dal Spar and asked Mr Kay if he would stock the soya bread if I put him in contact with the Health Zone – the bakery that supplies the health shop in Bryanston. A few phone calls later and what a huge, huge and very welcome surprise when on Thursday 18 July there were loaves of soya bread, hamburger and hotdog rolls, on the shelves of Rant-en-Dal Spar and at a lower price than I paid in Bryanston. (I must mention that a loaf of this soya bread costs three times the amount of a normal white loaf!)
Well done and thank you once again Mr Kay!
This soya bread is suitable for people with gluten intolerance and free of dairy and egg.
Anyone that wishes to contact me with questions about allergies, allergy testing (non evasive – no needles or blood sampling), intolerances, or wish to share something is welcome to do so via email gigi.albarran@gmail.com and if they wish to speak to me in person they can request my phone no via email.
