All we need is hope

If your foundation is hope in God, the storms of life never will shake you.

Hope is one of the most powerful forces on earth. Equal to love and hate, hope can move mountains.

But in the world we live in more and more people loose hope. Many people, young and old, confess that they have no hope. Most of the cases of suicide that I have worked with there is one common denominator, the individual has experienced a state of hopelessness. You may ask yourself, how does a person get to a place where there is no hope?

The truth is that it is quite easy. If you experience disappointment in people, institutions, even disappointment in yourself, you can quickly feel as if you have no hope.

The warning I give today is serious. Don’t put your hope in people, don’t put your hope in your money, don’t put your hope in yourself.

Psalm 42:5 wisely states, “Put your hope in God”. Psalm 62:5 reads, “My hope comes from God”.

The best place to put your hope is with God. People will disappoint you, the church will let you down, but God will help you always.

Hope, like a house, is dependent on the foundation it is built on. If your foundation is strong, nothing will shake you.

If your foundation is hope in God, the storms of life never will shake you.
