I am writing this because I am fed up with the poor security at Key West Shopping Centre.
I am a tenant at Key West.
On 31 August my car was stolen from the under cover parking area under Game, but the car was recovered by the tracking company at least.
My question to the Key West’s management is what is going to be done about this crime problem and safety of your tenants who were forced to park in this unsafe parking garage during the construction at Key West?
At first they erected security booms at the garage entrance but then removed it, so this gives any criminal access to the parking area.
I feel as tenants and clients of Key West we have the right to park where we want to and not be dictated by Key West management.
This parking area is also very unsafe for women who walk to their cars alone in the afternoons. Whose car is going to be stolen next? We were promised safe and secure parking when we signed our parking contracts. I really feel that a security guard must be placed at the entrance to the garage with a security boom to control the excess, during the week and on Saturdays and Sundays. I would like to hear a response from Key West.
* Key West’s management responds:
As Centre Management of Key West Shopping Centre, we are doing everything possible to secure the safety of our tenants, our customers and their belongings. We also want to give the assurance that we will continue on this basis. We believe that our security is up to standard and we reckon that an isolated incident will not change this standard. We sympathise with those who have fallen prey to criminals and we are asking everybody to be alert and to report anything suspicious without delay.
