Biased reporting

Nico Molefe from Krugersdorp writes:

Can the editor of NEWS please explain why the paper is so biased in reporting about what happens in Kagiso and Munsieville?

The bad picture that is always painted about these two areas is so disturbing – reports from Kagiso and Munsieville are almost always about serious crime. Is there really nothing good that can be reported from these areas? Examples from the 8 November issue of NEWS:

• Woman kills with umbrella – Kagiso

• Three arrested (for murder) – Kagiso

• Man stoned – Kagiso

• Munsieville murder sparks protest

Are these two areas all about crime? My sense fully convinces me that after all the news has been gathered regarding Krugersdorp, then a trip is taken to Kagiso and Munsieville to get news on crime.

Maybe it’s time that you perhaps cancel all these trips or begin to look for good news in these areas.

You can do better than this.
