As you probably are aware by now, we have had no water for most of the weekend.
As this is a constant problem I think It’s time we as residents took a stand.
The municipality needs to refund all residents of the affected areas their full water bill for the last four or five months. This is to compensate for all the extras we have to pay for.
Driving to fetch water at water points, extra electricity to boil water to wash or bath in, purchasing water from the supermarkets – inconvenience in general.
If this was another area there would be violent service delivery protests with municipal offices and councillors houses being burned.
As we are not that type of people who vent our frustrations violently, we appeal to the municipality and Rand Water to solve this very unnecessary situation immediately so that we as residents can at least have a shower/ bath daily without having to boil water or go to a friend to do so.
We all need water, we cannot live without it.
