Goodbye Krugersdorp

Edna Wentzel from Krugersdorp writes:

As I have been a resident of Krugersdorp since 1987, I only think it proper to greet the Krugersdorpers and say fare thee well.

I have taken my leave of the local Methodist Churches, the Women’s Auxiliary, the Vroue Landbou Unie, Helen Helfrich’s Gym Club, my ex colleagues at Monument High Music School, my music pupils and their parents.

Now I wish to say goodbye to all my other friends and acquaintances. I have had a wonderful 26 years in the Krugersdorp community, and want to thank each one for your friendliness, or helpfulness, or politeness, or interest, or sympathy and encouragement last year on the passing of my husband, or your lovely smile. Each one of you added to my sense of wellbeing and enjoyment of living here.

I’m leaving to join my elder two children on a farm (the same farm I grew up on) in the Zastron district, South Eastern Free State. The youngest one has settled in Australia.

May God bless you as He has blessed me.
