I write this letter in response to Johan’s letter to the NEWS dated 28 February.
Johan has made a number of statements in his letter under discussion.
The NEWS has indicated that Pastor Mes will be making direct contact with Johan. This letter in no way is intended to be directed at Johan, but is intended to provide some perspective to those who will not have the benefit of Pastor Mes’ reply to Johan.
I have been a member of Pastor Mes’ church for approximately 20 years. I am aware of some of the projects that Pastor Mes and his church are involved with. Recently, Pastor Mes mentioned that the church was to involve itself in assisting a prostitute to rehabilitate herself over a period of time. The church was to pay all the costs associated therewith and provide all the support to her that may be necessary during the rehabilitation process. The cost associated with the rehabilitation will exceed R50 000.
This woman was willing to accept the help offered to her. Not many to whom the assistance was offered were willing to accept the assistance.
Pastor Mes and the church are not sitting back and judging anyone. They most definitely are assisting the community where they are able too.
Johan, I hope and pray that you once again experience God’s Love.
