May you be blessed, Johan

Allan Webb from Krugersdorp writes:

In response to your letter dated 26 February regarding Pastor Mes and his trip along Luipaard Street, I have a question and a few answers for you.

I have known Pastor Gerrit Mes personally for 42 years since we were pupils at KHS in 1972. He was best man at my wedding in 1981. He is well known for his weekly articles and has written it for 31 years. Thousands of people read his articles weekly and receive fulfilment, happiness, and love from these messages.

You claimed in your article that you are glad you are not a Christian. I ask you, why did you read that article, knowing it’s a Christian blessing? I think you have read it before, so why your comment?

Johan I want to tell you I have been fighting cancer for 21 years. Besides many other personal and physical problems, I had my left ear removed and I am deaf on my left side. My right ear has been reconstructed and that side of my face has had many operations to remove cancerous tumours down my neck and throat to my right shoulder. I also had my prostate removed after it burst open with cancer in 2010. That operation was a miracle.

But to fight the cancer further, I have had 167 sessions of radiation (not chemo therapy) to continue fighting the scourge of cancer. The results of the radiation have left me with an enormous cyst attached to my brain. It also has damaged the left temporal lobe of my brain, leaving me with uncontrollable, regular fits. I now am unable to drive a car. I am also left with incredible pain in my head.

And now, financially I am going to lose my home.

However, I am indeed blessed. I have the most wonderful wife, Win who is my lover and my care giver. We have been married for almost 33 years. I have been blessed by God to have three wonderful children of whom two are married. A further blessing of four grandchildren has been given to me to love. My late father only saw one of his seven grandchildren. Every day I see as a new day and blessing.

I must say I have been a Christian my whole life, and my faith, love, hope in the Lord Jesus Christ keeps me going. The short time we live on Earth is less that a small drop of water in all the oceans, compared to eternity. Being a Christian my whole life I place all my trust and faith in Him.

Johan there are thousands of people praying for you, and may you realise our time of life on Earth is short and we must make contact with God to enter into eternity, in peace.

May you be blessed.
