Why are there no Mogale writers?

Thabile Mange from Kagiso writes:

Are there no writers in Mogale City? Of course, there are writers in the city. The names of Sam Ditshego, Don Makatile, Nkosana Zali and Sipho None come to mind. Pity I’m not familiar with writers of other races.

Ditshego is a brilliant and knowledgeable historian. He is also conversant with different subjects. Makatile, who is armed with a Masters degree in creative writing, is a prolific writer and experienced journalist. He has worked for different publications.

Zali is a communication specialist and spokesperson for the Executive Mayor of Mogale City, Calvin Koketso Seerane. He is also an author of the book When season charge. None is brilliant, gifted and talented.

The pertinent questions are: are there no interesting stories to write about in Mogale City? Are there no exciting and interesting people to write about in the city? I want to believe that there is a lot to write about in Mogale.

Mogale City is a beautiful area. Not only that, it is also a tourist destination. We have Sterkfontein Caves and Maropeng, just to mention two.

But none of our writers have bothered to write about our beautiful city.

The first woman premier in Gauteng, the country’s economic hub, originates from Mogale City. Thats’ Nomvula Paula Mokonyana. Mokonyana has joined the league of the first. Why has nobody (Mogale City writers?) written a book or biography about her?

Mogale City writers are robbing us of their God-given talent. They are also denying us the opportunity to read good books written by them. May they kindly pick up their pens and start writing those books.

At Caxton, every story is written by humans. We use AI only to perform quality checks - never to generate the news. Happy reading!
