Does Mogale Traffic Department have no scruples?
Three manned cameras on Main Reef Road through to Witpoortjie; this during the times children are collected from school. This appears to be a case of deliberate entrapment, a get-rich-quick municipal scheme and a because-we-think-we-can attitude (they are not even a legal entity, in my opinion).
As a citizen of Mogale City, I am very upset about this. Do they have the required permission to trap at these locations? Do these officers have the relevant training? Is the equipment calibrated and working properly? Are the fines legal and legitimate? I have received three incorrect fines.
The photo’s are not clear, I cannot even see if it’s truly my vehicle. And yes I can prove that its not my vehicle. These fines all have the same operator on them. This alone should be raising alarm bells with the public.
One of the fines has a picture so unclear that I cannot identify it as my vehicle but trapped across lanes and in the wrong direction (this has really raised alarm bells with me).
Another fine, also unclear is not for the correct area at all, I also suspect the time on the equipment is incorrect. I was nowhere near the location at the said time and date. I drove up and down the road in question and could not identify the area in the photo. This is on Main Reef Road, which has a curb; on the photo there is no curb or road markings.
The time is not consistent with my driving in that area, and once again oh dear the same operator? This issue really needs to be investigated fully, and the traffic department needs to explain these incorrect, inconsistent, inaccurate, unclear and wrongful fines to the citizens. I am sure and very positive I am not the only one; I wonder how many people have paid these fines without fully investigating?
