Regarding the article in the news edition of 16 May titled Besorgde bejaardes besteel I also would like to add my wife to this list as we also live in Mindalore.
A similar tactic was used whereby this person walked into our property while our gate was closing and approached my wife. He told her a story that his mother was dying and he had to go to the hospital in Pretoria so that he could say goodbye to her. Unfortunately he did not have petrol to get there and could he borrow R100 for petrol.
The story sounded so sincere that if my wife had more money on her she probably would have given him more.
Well, that was three years ago and we are still waiting for him to repay the money as promised. To what level must a person stoop to, using your mother to solicit money?
We truly have become a sick society.
