I would like to bring to readers’ attention an incident that happened on Saturday 24 May around 4.15pm at the corner of Amajuba and Blouberg Streets in Noordheuwel.
A black man was riding his bike in Amajuba Street towards Van Oord Street. A white car came from Van Oord Street into Amajuba Street.
They driver not see the man on his bicycle and turned into Blouberg Street, hitting the cyclist in the process.
The man landed on the island on his head. The white car stopped, looked at him and drove off. A man in a red car travelling in the
opposite direction also stopped and then drove away.
I went to see if I could be of assistance. The man had a head wound, was limping and his bike was dented.
My neighbour Lorraine who heard the noise also came out to look.
Her son then worked on the man’s bike to get the wheel turning again.
Lorraine also rendered first aid to his head and bandaged his leg.
How cruel can one be?
Surely they could have just got out and helped the man.
What they did is against the law.
If this happened to their child, they would be up in arms. You can hide, but remember God never sleeps.
