Do you think we are stupid?
I read the article on load shedding in the news of 20 June, in which we are told that the period of maximum consumption is between 5pm and 9pm daily, implying that if we don’t manage to economise that is when Eskom will be forced to shed the load.
I observed that we had no power (in Krugersdorp North) during the period 1am to 5am on 20 June, during the period of minimum consumption. Do you wonder why I call your informant/s, be they municipal or Eskom, a bunch of liars?
Then again your article says that load shedding will take place between 6am to 10:30pm.
Add to that the mention of shedding 1 000, 2 000 or 4 000kW from the national grid. Does that explain load shedding between 1am and 5am? I think not.
In the possible case of a power outage between 1am and 5am for essential maintenance then the municipality must plan its work and advise the public in good time via the press and radio.
In the face of palpable lies, can you expect cooperation from the public? I think not. As the old saying goes, pull the other leg!
How about telling the public the whole truth for a change?
