Tired of crime

Leon Ehrke from Lewisham writes:

We, the community of Lewisham and Mindalore, are tired of all the violence happening in our community! We would like to live in a peaceful and violence-free community where our children and the elderly citizens can walk without fear and we all can live in peace.

We need to get our sector policing forum back on track and report crime. We need a platform where we can start the process. We need statistics on a monthly basis to determine the nature of crime and also to determine if we are succeeding in our effort to prevent crime. We need to report crime. The police won’t know we have a problem unless we tell them.

The police must investigate each case and report back to the community. Remember you can remain anonymous. The harder you make it for the burglar or criminal, the less likely you will be the next victim. Your information, along with the information supplied by others, might help the police to arrest a criminal. Every piece of information, no matter how small, is important and every witness has a different perspective on a crime and their observation is equally important.

If everyone sits back and hope for someone else to report crime, the result in Sector 9 can be that criminals commit even bigger crimes or crimes that have huge implications. To help turn a bad situation into a good one you must get involved in our aim to take our streets back for the safety of each resident in Lewisham and Mindalore.

We used to have our meetings on the third Thursday of every month in the Jubilee Hall in Lewisham.
