Not having had the voice to tell the truth to the nation that your own efforts failed to challenge the Government on having Krugersdorp as a Afrikaner cultural town instead of a shanty town after the opening of a shopping centre, I once again break my own rule to squeak about unfair media input that has caused an ulcer in myself and every property owner in Krugersdorp.
Referring to the recent news input regarding the new holiday resort planned for Coronation Park I would like to give facts from a long story regarding events around the park before the 2010 Soccer World Cup finals.
Krugersdorp became the focus point for above events when the municipality planned to upgrade Bob van Reenen stadium and to build a water world at the adjacent Coronation Park. Houses were bought up in the CBD area to serve as accommodation and entertainment centres, which was resented totally by most house owners in the suburbs.
A few of us fought against the plans of the Municipality and Lefika. Fifa changed their plans by moving the events to Rustenburg.
What they started around the stadium was left undone and the environment deteriorated like the rest of Krugersdorp. Not living in Krugersdorp anymore I am not sure what the holiday resort is all about but to spoil this green belt with something artificial for most residents will further frustrate this mining town.
To save more towns from total destruction, truth must prevail to tell all what happens when two orders rule and the biggest chest gets the publicity.
