Don’t let your peace get disturbed

Pastor Gerrit Mes; from the pulpit.

I have to admit on such a public platform – I am a romantic.

I am one of very few people who honestly can say not only have I been married for 35 years, but I have enjoyed 35 years of honeymoon. Romance is very powerful, yet, extremely sensitive.

Little things can enhance or extinguish a romantic situation. Things that enhance a romantic setting are the four ‘Cs’ – candles, CD (music), chocolate and coffee.

Romance, like peace, depends on a setting. If you allow the setting to be disturbed, your peace could be gone.

To have peace you must get things into the setting: quiet meditation, appreciation of God, music, trust and so forth, then peace will be with you.

Keep things like noise, disruptions, worry, busy mess, fighting and fear out of the way or your peace will be lost.

Jesus said in John 14:27, “My peace I give to you …”

Yes, you have his peace, but don’t allow the devil to steal your peace by disturbing the setting.
