With reference to the letter published in the 5 September edition of the news titled The real problem with the traffic light on Broom has reference.
The anonymous writer assumes that that the writer of the previous letter does not bear other factors in mind, which is untrue, and that the previous writer forgets about the traffic that uses Bell Drive and the Caltex garage as thorough fares, which is also untrue.
There is no thorough fare traffic from Bell Drive in the morning; the thorough fare traffic is through the petrol station. Anonymous is referring to afternoon traffic while the previous writer is referring to morning traffic.
There are no compulsory turning green arrows into Robert Broom from Norden Road. One Friday the robot did not work and traffic flowed faster from Norden Road into Robert Broom Drive.
I have been living here since 1997, why should I have to leave earlier than 7am to travel a five kilometre radius because of a newly erected robot that is not synchronised correctly?
