After reading the article on the mysterious closure of Hospice I am totally shocked.
I worked for Hospice a long time ago and spent many happy and fulfilling years there. Hospice was a place of safety, acceptance and most important unconditional love.
The support to the terminally ill and their families was the main focus of all the staff at Hospice. All who worked there had a passion to ensure that the patients receive the care they needed emotionally as well as medically.
The question I would like answered is why is one of the shops still open if there is no Hospice anymore as the shop’s main focus was to generate funds to continue the care for the patients?
Where is the funds going that will be generated through the shop? What did the management do with the vehicles that were donated and bought with lotto money to ensure that care can be given to the patients and what is going to happen to the house that was purchased by Hospice for the use of day care and training purposes?
I think these are important questions that need answers as the community supported Hospice and their shops.
