I am very suspicious of quick fixes, easy solutions and short cuts. If something sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Invest R100 today, get R1 000 in a month. No!
Preachers often offer people quick fixes, easy solutions and short cuts to heaven. We flavour our sermons to please people and we offer deals that are not realistic. For example, if you go to church every Sunday, put some money in the bag and try to live right, you will go to heaven. Some preachers even imply that God is willing to turn a blind eye to some of your sins. Quick fixes one day may put you in a fix.
Jesus once said, “If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.”
Yes, going to church is important, yes, giving is important, but you have to pick up your cross.
The road to God is not an easy one, but it is worth the pain for what you gain.
PS. Don’t be fooled, there are no short cuts.
