I would like to thank Christ Kids Trust and the Bethany House Trust, who have done amazing work helping our children, parents and teachers. Both the Christ Kids Trust and the Bethany House Trust are non-profit organisations.
Auntie Prudence (as the children call her), from Christ Kids comes to school to counsel some of our learners. I have seen children flourish and become confident under her guidance. I have seen teachers go to her for advice and reassurance. When it comes to helping our kids, I think we are all unsure at times. Most importantly, I have seen how “Auntie Prudence” has become “family” from the way learners will inquire as to when she is coming to school again or if they may please speak to her … or when they are cheering particularly loud when she comes on stage during their yearly show.
The Bethany House Trust also does remarkable work with our children. As teachers, we do not always have the time or emotional strength to help children who have lost parents, who are on the wrong path or who are struggling to cope. We are so overwhelmed, but they come in and make our burden less. The Bethany House succeeds in doing what we cannot do. My only wish is that they could also see the change in our children that we see.
From the parents, teachers and learners at KTS – thank you.
