Security guard turned author

Thabile Mange from Kagiso writes:

Security guards or officers work long hours but are paid peanuts.

As if that is not enough, they are also exploited and have no benefits such as medical aids and housing allowances. Additionally, they are either not unionised or not allowed to belong to a union. But I digress.

Onkarabile Wisdom Mokoto is a security guard. However, Mokoto does not allow his job to define him. Instead, he regards it as a means to an end, and not the other way round. He has proven that security guards also have brains too.

Mokoto is an author with two books to his name. The books are the Power of Planning and How to hear God when He Speaks. He is also the director and founder of Life Shaping Services, his motivational company.

The inspiring story of Mokoto has caught media attention. Not long ago, he appeared on SABC2’s Morning Live show talking about the Power of Planning. His story was also published in the News. He was also on Motsweding FM.

He is planning to write more books and continue using his story to motivate others. According to him, his books have touched and changed many lives in a positive manner. And he intends reaching many people to change more lives. He is a good man.

Many people look down upon security guards. However, I’m sure Mokoto’s story will change the perception people have about security officers. His achievements show that you can be what you want to be in life, regardless of the job you’re doing.
