I would like to alert everyone to my struggle of almost 30 minutes to get through to any emergency services …
No answer from the fire emergency number … municipal emergency number gets cut off when dialled … the local police station’s number goes unanswered … and then I called the national number, only to be told to dial the municipal emergency number that just gets cut off …
It’s very frustrating to try and report a veld fire which is out of control where people are known to live in caves.
Even online CPF numbers were wrong … eventually I searched for an online number and spoke to a chairperson directly. He brilliantly got people on site!
What is wrong with our town, country, world? How is there no emergency response or caring?
