I took note of the disruption of the water supply to Krugersdorp due to alleged non-payment to Rand Water by the Mogale City Local Municipality. We operate two child and youth care centres and two shelters for homeless persons in Krugersdorp.
We pay Mogale City for our water and other municipal services (and trust that the municipality in turn pays the bulk suppliers).
If there is no water at the sites from which those services are rendered, more than 120 children and 150 homeless persons are without water.
What is Mogale City going to do to avert a public health disaster? How is Mogale City going to ensure our constitutional access to clean water?
