I would like to extend our greatest thanks and compliments to the Mogale City Fire Department for averting a massive fire in the Silverfields-Breaunanda valley a few weeks ago.
The Parks Department never maintains the two metre high elephant grass growing between the Santa Fe and Kloofsig complexes, so the Fire Department maintains a fire break between them. Still, a massive fire broke out and and could have run across the entire valley, over our smallholding above the Pines Picnic resort below Carol Road.
The team that fought the fire were inside our property protecting against the inevitable jump and did a great job – they are all everyday heroes whom we forget to praise.
We are most blessed with your team! Thank you all.
