Thank you for saving my life

Charles van Rensburg from Wentworth Park writes:

In June I had a very unfortunate incident when I was involved in an accident with my motorbike on the corner of Commissioner and Boshoff Streets, in Krugersdorp’s CBD.

Unfortunately, I have no recollection of the circumstances surrounding the accident and would like to appeal to anyone who might have witnessed the accident, to contact me on 071 860 7912.

However, having said that, I would like to thank the caring bystanders who, without hesitation, attended to my injuries.

My sincere gratitude goes out to all the following parties who assisted in some way or the other to make this experience more bearable:

• Warrant Officer Mynhardt and his colleague from the police who did not hesitate to stop and assist me, who contacted my wife, and kept her calm and updated throughout

• My colleagues who immediately arranged to have my motorbike and valuables taken to a place of safety and for all the other forms of assistance

• Maponya Ambulance Service that transported me to hospital

• Dr Cloete and the personnel at the Casualty Department of the hospital for treating me; and a very special thank you to Sister Thabisa Mbode. I was told that Sister Thabisa not only treated me, but she went out of her way to keep my family and I calm and to communicate the entire procedure, even the slightest little detail to us. Not that I can remember any of it

Sister Thabisa, you are an angel sent from heaven. You do not just do your job, you go the extra mile for your fellow humans and you do so with passion. Thank you very much

• Dr Goggie Fourie, Dr T Ndzeru, and Dr Zigiriadis, I will always be indebted to you for your professional treatment
