Be cautious of cyber scams out there

Kylie from Evolution IT in President Square writes:

I would like to bring to the community’s attention the number of people getting scammed out of their money by various fake companies and fake schemes.

I have had numerous clients in our store running through the various steps of these scams over the internet and via email.

We would like to offer a few pointers on how to spot these scams, as well as offer the community a place to go in order to check up on the legitimacy of various offers that they may receive.

Our staff is well-versed in spotting a scam, but we need to let the local community know that they can come to us for help and advice.

It’s heartbreaking to see the victims of these scams and the hopelessness in their eyes when they realise that they have lost their hard-earned money for no reason.

The company would like to help, as the community and its people are very important to us.

At Caxton, we employ humans to generate daily fresh news, not AI intervention. Happy reading!
