‘I couldn’t help but laugh’

Just Wondering from Noordheuwel writes:

I had to laugh when I read the article on Speeding now a thing of the past in the 28 October issue of the News.

I thought we didn’t have any traffic officials anymore, because one just doesn’t see them around.

One can do what one likes on the roads, especially at robots and stop streets, and nobody does a thing about it.

Now they want to put up cameras all over the town to stop speeding, once again sitting in their offices and not out and about. What about negligent driving, doesn’t that cause more accidents? I would think so.

Overtaking on white lines, not stopping at red robots and especially at stop streets, and stopping anywhere in streets, are more dangerous than speeding, to my mind, and cause serious and often fatal accidents.

The officials urge motorists to adhere to road rules at all times. Who is monitoring this?
