In 2017, I published my first book, God’s servants or money grubbers, which did very well in terms of sales.
Last year, I published my second book, Kagiso Women Making Waves – On Their Own Terms. This year, I intend publishing my third book, Why Men Abuse Women.
I did not launch my first book. For self-publishers, launching a book is an expensive exercise, especially if you dig from your own pocket. I know a self-published author who launched his first book and never recovered the costs. He has vowed never to launch again, except if he gets a sponsor. I share the sentiment.
That said, I have launched my second book in September last year. The launch was held at the Kagiso Sports Complex. It went very well, way beyond my imagination. In simple terms, it was successful.
Let me hasten to say that I wouldn’t have done it without the support of certain individuals and businesses from Kagiso. As a result, I didn’t carry the costs (except for the venue) of the launch. They were covered by the above-mentioned.
I wish to thank the following: Sepotokele Funerals and Mogale City Local Municipality. I also wish to extend my gratitude to Luki Tlholoe, Teboho Maruping (a dear friend), Dr Molefi Kgalamono (confidante and family doctor), Koketso Ncube, Thandi Mvubelo, Johanna Mogale, Lekale Mashego and Craig Rowe.
My wish was for the book to be distributed to all the schools and libraries in Mogale City. It appears I was over-ambitious. However, dreams are free.
I have only managed to distribute the book to a few schools in Kagiso, through the help of certain individuals, who paid for them. I thank them from the bottom of my heart. May the good Lord bless them abundantly. And it still remains my ambition to distribute the book to all the schools and libraries in Mogale City.
Lastly, I wish to thank the Mogale City citizens for buying my books. You have supported me from my first book to the second one. I cannot thank you enough, except to say “thank you”. I hope and pray you will do the same with my third book.
