Trees senselessly butchered by municipality

Danie from Silverfields Park writes:

On Tuesday, 5 March, Mogale City came and butchered two trees in front of my house. I only heard later that someone had complained that they could not walk past the corner because of low-hanging branches (which I would have cut myself if asked. No need to butcher a tree).

It is now weeks later and the debris has not been cleaned up. I had to clean my driveway myself just to get my car in and out.

Mogale City does not pick up their phones. I even sent emails to the deputy mayor as well as client services, with no reply. There are still cuttings in the street, which are dangerous to motorists as well as cyclists and bikers. I don’t even want to go into how many birds my wife and I had to try and save on Tuesday night.

At this stage, I know nothing can be done about the trees, but Mogale City needs to come clean up.
