Thank you for fixing our street lights

Chris Strydom from Krugersdorp West writes:

I would like to thank the Krugersdorp Street Light Department for their speedy response.

Three of the street lights have been off for a while at the end of Stegmann Street in Krugersdorp West.

I have been renting out my property and did not know that the street lights had been off for so long.

I reported the fault on a Thursday morning and by Thursday afternoon at about 5.30pm, the electrician arrived and fixed two of the street lights. The third one apparently had a cable fault and the person in charge said he would hand it over and it could take a few weeks to repair.

The next morning, they arrived and sealed the openings after showing me that drug dealers had [allegedly] cut a short piece of the electrical wire out so that at night it remained dark and they could do their drug deals.

The technician also pointed out that the other light was not working because one of the street lights was broken off in an accident many years ago and never replaced, and when the municipality came for the first time in many months to cut the grass they damaged the one remaining wire.

It would be appreciated if the street light could be replaced because there are elderly people staying on the premises.

Let us keep the city clean and safe! And once again, thanks for the fast response from the technician and his team.
