Mogale a disaster municipality

Anonymous from Krugersdorp writes:

Ten out of 10 for the editor for enquiring what is happening at Mogale City council, but as usual nothing is happening. It seems it will stay that way until a new mayor is elected as they just don’t care about the residents of Mogale until, of course, it comes to election time.

You need to do much more than ‘scratch your head’ with all the excuses we get from our councillors and officials at Mogale when asking for information and help, as they too are doing absolutely nothing. Believe it or not, they have “long ready prepared communication” statements on WhatsApps that they send out to everyone who asks about load-shedding, service delivery etc., made up of course of pretexts that are unbelievable!

Here is an example of excuses sent out:

“The current situation with Eskom’s erratic load-shedding is outside our sphere of influence. We can only provide the information that we receive from Eskom. Councillors do not have more info than the rest of the residents” and so they go on blah, blah, blah and with more “pre-prepared” communication to residents!

Then they also add that they “phoned” Eskom! Who is fooling who? Do they think we are idiots to believe this rubbish?

With regard to Mogale not paying our outstanding electricity bill, people were informed that they have paid some of it, but not the full amount!

I don’t believe this for a moment as Mogale got load-shedding twice in one day and at other times in the morning and then again late at night. So everyone is saying this is because Mogale has not paid the account and used the money for the mayor’s funeral! Who is fooling who here again?

Mogale still owes a huge amount to Eskom for our electricity. The residents of Mogale would still like to know when the full balance outstanding will be paid, otherwise Mogale is going to continue to get double load-shedding!

Then we have the cost of this funeral – hiring a marquee, plus the lavish after tea eats and so forth. You are so right, dear editor, that Mogale taxpayers definitely have the right to know the truth for this expense and what it cost. You must and should insist that it is made public, and put public pressure on Mogale to reveal the cost.

No one at Mogale is taking charge – no political party, no officials, none whatsoever, so our town still looks and will continue to look like a scene from the apocalypse and remain a disaster while the Mogale Municipality takes no interest whatsoever in getting back to work and serve the residents of Mogale. What a shambles!

The residents are so tired of hearing “we are so busy attending meetings” and “no officials are available, we are snowed under”.

At Caxton, we employ humans to generate daily fresh news, not AI intervention. Happy reading!
