In the News of 19 February 2021 with the title of Road fines process explained it was explained how charges will be laid against motorists who exceed the speed limits, which is totally fine.
The traffic department must be made aware, though, of the road signs in the included photo that leave drivers totally confused about what speed limit is really applicable on the corner of Albertina Sisulu Road and Wentworth Street. Is it 40km/h or 20 km/h?
What worries me is that both signs are permanently marked signals in red and white, not yellow and red.
Another concern is how many road signs painted on the roads are gone or not clearly visible, and then a question on my heart will be who will be responsible for accidents on such roads?
Obviously, drivers will have a responsibility to drive safely, but proper road signs must be applicable everywhere in our areas for safe driving.
Thanks for taking proper responsibility for this so that everyone can get to all destinations safely.
We are looking forward to proper, better-quality roads.
