The Jab

The jab may save your life, but it won’t get you into heaven.

• Pastor Gerrit Mes of the AFM Pentecostal Fellowship writes:

Have you had yours yet? Will you get yours as soon as you can?

I have seldom seen our society, Christians and non-religious people, so divided. My phone is bombarded with messages and videos creating confusion about the vaccines. On an almost daily basis people ask the Pastor for his opinion. Like many of you, I am sceptical, uncertain, even scared. I don’t know who or what to believe on the subject of “the jab”.

I cannot claim to have received clear instructions from God to give to you. But I do have a bit of advice. Don’t judge others. If your faith allows you to have it, have it. If you don’t feel you can, then don’t, for now anyway. But don’t expect others to live by your conscience.

I don’t take advice from my doctor on my car’s engine, and I don’t take seriously what my mechanic says about my liver. Pastors and dominees are not experts on everything. That is why you have a direct line to God. You and I should pray about it, allow God to speak into our hearts and follow that.

Isaiah 30:21, “Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you saying, “This is the way, walk in it”.

In the times we live in, we need that voice more than ever. Not the voice of sceptics or fake news. You and I need to listen to God’s voice. If you give the wrong advice, based on the wrong sources, you could be an accomplice in a crime you didn’t understand. The jab may save your life, but it won’t get you into heaven.
