Dear Mr Editor, I want to clear up a few issues Mr Lucky Sele stated in his letter published on page 4 of the News dated December 10 with headline DA minority take-over threatens MCLM stability.
Mr Lucky Sele, just for clarity I wish to respond to your nice piece of propaganda published on 10 December 2021, Krugersdorp News.
You state, “The ANC remains the political organisation preferred by the majority residents of Mogale City” (political maths).
From the 2021 election results the pictures seems quite different: 90 032 valid votes; 36 370 for ANC; 53 662 not for the ANC.
The ANC got 40% of the vote, that means that other 60% of voters did not vote for you. The majority of Mogale City residents rejected the ANC.
On Tyrone Gray who was not elected in Ward 9 you state, “This should be a clear indication that the community of Mogale City rejected the DA and their candidate in the city”. The community of Mogale City does not consist only of Ward 9.
Mogale City has major mismanagement issues as a result of ANC: Waste water works not functioning properly, roads in a shocking state, Eskom payment arrears, Bob van Reenen, to name but a few. There is no witch hunt, you did it all by yourselves. The majority of citizens had enough of ANC incompetence and political egos.
So please start working for all the citizens of Mogale City instead of playing politics.
Mogale City needs competent service delivery from all the elected councillors.
