I would just like to say that accident last Friday morning October 7 could have been avoided if our traffic officers were more vigilant.

I leave for work every morning at 4:20 from Noordheuwel suburb and I pass numerous trucks exceeding 100km/hour in the middle lane, not using the designated lane – 24 wheelers, unmarked, often passing trucks going the speed limit in the left hand lane.
I have slowed down and waited at the robots but they just yield and go through the red. I have reported the marked vehicles, some owners have been amicable others have told me its got nothing to do with me and I am not Metro.
Also the run off at the bottom is ineffective, too sharp, weeds, hard sand will never stop any truck.
During the day, hardly ever any Metro present – they like to park in the shade on the opposite side of the robot and pull off motorists to check licenses and they don’t stop taxi’s from stopping in the run off and off load passengers.
As no law is enforced why are we not surprised at the horrific accident?
