Pupil ran cross-country in Poland

A pupil from Itereleng Special School in Kagiso returned with a bronze medal.

Silas Daniels (23) a pupil from Itereleng Special School in Kagiso paved his way to Poland where he participated in a world cross-country championship and returned with a bronze medal after securing third place.

Marks Sethi, who is a soccer coach says because the children have such talent he took up coaching athletics and cross country.

He speaks proudly of his athlete Silas and attribute his success to good discipline and hard work.

“He has great talent and I want to see him improve on this. My dream is to see him participating at long-distance running events such as the Comrades and Two Oceans Marathons one day.”

Silas has never participated in a competition outside of South Africa’s borders and says the opportunity was a great learning experience.

Olga Molefe, school principal says that she is very proud of her Silas and is pleased that they have done so well.
