The Heat hits Krugersdorp

Professional South African boxer meets and greets his fans and aspiring boxers in Krugersdorp.

South African professional boxer returns to his roots to inspire young boxers at a local boxing club.

Chris ‘The Heat’ van Heerden, who kicked off his boxing career in 2006, relocated to the USA in 2013 where he currently trains under famous coach Freddie Roach.

In his professional career of boxing, Chris has a total of 22 wins (11 knockouts), two losses and one draw under his boxing belt.

The students of the Krugersdorp West Boxing Club stood in lines to meet and greet Chris who visited the club earlier in May.

Each aspiring boxer had the opportunity to shake the legend’s hand and pose for a photograph.

Attentively the students watched as he demonstrated various moves and footwork techniques.

He also showed the aspiring boxers how to exercise and improve their footwork with something as simple as a tennis ball.

The boxing star then ended off a busy night at the club by sleeping over at the iconic Rabbit Hole Hotel before continuing his South African visit.
