Warriors take on extreme challanges

“The two kilometre route was nothing short of spectating heaven."

The brave, the strong and the extreme. The buff, the fit and the elite. These are the warriors who showed off their incredible skills at GOG Lifestyle Park in Muldersdrift – a venue boasting South Africa’s only sprint obstacle course – on Saturday, 11 November.

And they’re off. The first group of warriors making their way through the course.

With three categories on offer, the Multiply Adventure Challenge catered for every type of obstacle course individual. There was The Extremist with its 30 physically demanding obstacles; The Brave with 22 challenging obstacles and The Apprentice with 15 obstacles for the newbies.

“The two kilometre route was nothing short of spectating heaven,” said Hennie Scheepers, obstacle course director.

A great example of how difficult the course is.

“Can you imagine taking something as epic as Black Ops and putting it into a stadium, for everyone to see? That’s exactly what the Multiply Adventure Challenge was going for.”

The Multiply Adventure Challenge, in partnership with The Warrior Race, is the first of its kind to appeal to sports fanatics, gym enthusiasts and non-athletic adventurous spirits alike. The challenge is simple: conquer the same number of obstacles as the Warrior Race, but in only two kilometres.

Trevor Lagerwey came second in the Extremist Male category.

Multiply encourages South Africans to pursue the fullest, healthiest and most active lifestyle they possibly can and obstacle course racing gives them the perfect platform to do so. That’s why they teamed up with The Warrior Company to host the ideal family-friendly adventure.

“Family-orientated events are important to us and we want people to know that,” said Zureida Ebrahim, CEO of Multiply. “This was an incredible opportunity to do something exciting with the people they love.”
